The Beginning of YSA Global:
A Story of Purpose and Urgency
That day, I couldn't rest. The urgency was overwhelming.
It wasn’t new—I had felt it for years, an unshakable pull that told me I needed to do something. What exactly? I wasn’t sure.
But I knew, deep down, that I couldn’t keep postponing.
It was April, at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, just a few days before my birthday, when the feeling intensified like never before.
This time, there was clarity. I knew exactly what I had to do.
I have always loved teaching, sharing what I know, and helping others navigate their journeys.
Working in a space where I constantly engaged with young people, I saw—without unseeing—so many of them sleeping on their potential. It was frustrating. I could hear the echoes of untapped greatness, the loud nudges pushing me to act.
And so, in April 2020, I started Young Smart Africa (YSA) as a simple blog on WordPress. It was my way of contributing—writing insightful articles to inspire young people to chase their dreams with purpose.
What began as a passion project quickly grew into something much bigger.
Today, YSA Global is more than just a platform—it’s a movement.
The vision remains the same: to see young people become the best versions of themselves, to help them uncover their purpose, and to empower them to use their talents to contribute meaningfully to society. But I don’t want this to be a solo journey.
I believe in the power of shared knowledge and the responsibility we all have to lift others as we climb.
I want to see a cycle of influence where mid-career professionals aspire for more and give back to early professionals, and early professionals, in turn, uplift aspiring professionals. A continuous flow of empowerment, mentorship, and transformation.
